Course - Safety Considerations
Our course is built in the forest in an area where Fire Smart initiatives have thinned out the forest floor. Here are some things to remember:
Our course is built in the forest in an area where Fire Smart initiatives have thinned out the forest floor. Here are some things to remember:
- Wear sturdy hiking boots / shoes to reduce the risk of rolling an ankle on uneven terrain.
- Watch your step at all times, but especially when it is wet. Logs can be very slippery when wet.
- Bring bug spray to protect against the mosquitoes.
- Keep a safe distance when throwing near other people or players. Your disc can curve a lot more than you think sometimes!
- Play with a group of people to reduce the risk of an animal encounter.
- Bring bear spray and noisemakers in the case of a bear or cougar encounter.
- Watch out for low branches to protect your eyes and not get scratched.
- Watch out for dead trees that have fallen but got hung up on other trees.
